Art Room Update

Each year I like to add some new things to the art room. This year I added several new things to the outside of my room. I got several nice compliments about the new decorations. Most of the ideas I got from Pinterest, which is the most wonderful site for a teacher and artist, it is truly addicting.

The first thing I made was these wonderful wooden letters that spell out the word ART. I have them hot glued to the wall right as you enter the room. I got the letters at Hobby Lobby, I liked these best because they are big and thin so they work great being glued to the wall. I used puff paints to do the designs on the letters. These worked ok, I was looking for a paint that I could get a lot of details, this was not really the case with the puff paints, however they worked well enough.

I have been doing a lot of cool designs using Zentangles, these are line and shape designs that create intricate patterns. I made this Zentangle ART sign to go above the door of my art room.
You can go to the link below to check out everything Zentangle related

I made this colorful WELCOME sign to go out beside my door as the students enter the art room. I got this idea from Pinterest as well. It was very easy, I used patterned scrapbook paper to cut out the letters and I used black and colored construction paper for the round circles.
I hope you enjoy the new updates to the ART room as much as I have!!
